We've changed the CERT Rodeo to an open house and still plan on having a few skill stations open if you want to practice or compete for fun. Here are a few of the stations that you might have available.
Cross Country Ski
Timed event. A team of 4 will cover a 25-foot distance on two 8-foot wooden planks with rope handles. At the end of the first 25 ft. a second 4-person team will take over and traverse back to the starting point. Time stops when the last person and the end of the board cross the line.

Line Search
Select a team leader and a scribe. Conduct a line search across the designated search area. You will search the field area without breaking your line, stopping only when items are located, your scribe is notified, and found items are documented and items are tagged with a ‘flag’. Score is based on time to finish with deductions for any missing items.

Cribbing
Timed event. Select a team leader, safety person, pry bar lifter and three crib builders. A victim is trapped under a structure. The team will need to use safe proper cribbing techniques to extract the trapped victim. Deductions will be given for any unsafe actions.

Fire Extinguisher Shooting Gallery
The fire extinguisher shooting gallery challenge shall evaluate the ability of a two-member CERT team to simulate extinguishing a series of small, incipient fires. The layout of the event will resemble an indoor shooting gallery typically found on the midway of a fair or festival. Targets are positioned around the room. Targets are assigned points according to the degree of difficulty in hitting that specific target. One person will be blindfolded while the other team member will give directions for completing the challenge. After the first team is done a second team will go next. Team scores will be added together for the final score.

Tower Search and Rescue
Timed event. Select a team leader and scribe. They will remain outside of the search tower. Numbered tennis balls are hidden in the Fire Tower on floors 1-4. Four 2-person teams will search for and document the tennis balls. A whistle will blow giving you a 1- minute warning to get all team members out of the building.
Information will be relayed to the scribe to make a map of the tower and indicate where the targets were located. Team score will be based on total time, less any missing tennis balls and deductions for incorrect paperwork or safety violations.
